Davenport Public School
2024-2025 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are focusing on developing effective conflict resolution skills.
We are doing this to help our students build healthy relationships with peers and adults.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Promote and model words and acts of kindness.
- Teach and model the Stop It, Name It, Explain It, Change It strategy.
- Share the Stop It, Name It, Explain It, Change It strategy with families and caregivers so that conflicts at home can be addressed with the same strategy and language.
- Acknowledge students for positive words and actions that build healthy relationships through our Soaring Falcons Celebration Assemblies.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child about one positive act of kindness they did throughout the day.
- Encourage your child/children to use their voice for advocacy.
- Check out the TVDSB Safe Schools – Students Page with your child to learn about the difference between conflict, mean and rude behaviours and bullying, along with other valuable information related to safe schools.
